Hey Winefam!
If you’re anything like me, coffee might as well run through your veins. It’s the first thing I think about in the morning and often my go-to for that after-dinner dinner pick-me-up. But as much as I love my cup (or three) of Joe, I’ve learned that too much caffeine can leave me feeling jittery, and anxious, and even disrupt my sleep. So, I’ve been searching for ways to energize throughout the day without always reaching for another cup of coffee. Here are some caffeine-free tips I’ve gathered for y’all.
I know a lot of us are giving up coffee for lent so these tips should help you when trying to energize without caffeine. If you missed last week’s Mom Tip Tuesday read it here.

Morning Stretch or Yoga
Starting the day with a deep stretch or yoga session can work wonders. It wakes up the body, gets the blood flowing, and can boost your energy levels more naturally than caffeine. Even just 10 minutes can make a difference! When I used to do the mommy and me workout groups I had more energy than when I didn’t workout(like now).

Hydration is Key
Sometimes, fatigue is simply a sign of dehydration. Drinking a glass of water first thing in the morning, and keeping a water bottle handy throughout the day, can help keep the energy dips at bay. For a little flavor, you can add slices of lemon, cucumber, or a few berries.
A Nutritious Breakfast
Skipping breakfast is a no-go when you are energizing without caffeine. A nutritious morning meal with proteins, healthy fats, and whole grains gives me more energy than bread and coffee.
Think eggs, avocado toast, or oatmeal with nuts and fruit. You can even do overnight oats if you’re pressed for time. It keeps me going much longer than a coffee ever could. I would like to also add that feed yourself no matter what but the quality of the fuel determines how the car drives, I run better on a healthy breakfast vs just coffee.

Take Short, Brisk Walks
As a former night shift nurse when I’d feel my energy dipping, I’d walk around the unit or volunteer to run labs just to get a quick walk in. If you can make it outside just a few minutes of fresh air can reinvigorate your body and mind, reducing the temptation to reach for caffeine.

Snack Smart
Instead of sugary snacks that lead to energy crashes, I opt for snacks rich in fiber and protein. Almonds, Greek yogurt, or apple slices with peanut butter provide a steady source of energy.
Remember, Winefam, taking care of ourselves is just as important as taking care of others. Let me know which tips worked for you and what you would add to the list. Additionally, you don’t have to give up caffeine for lentโฆI didn’t but I did limit myself to only one cup a day I gave up candy. As always Winefam hoping your wine or your coffee is stronger than your kids.
